Noah DuBois' Writing Portfolio

Documents of Significance Pertaining to the Straßburg Disaster
This piece was written for WRIT 2400, Editing and Publishing. The main project for this class was the co-creation and maintenance of multiple, differently themed, publishing sites for DU. One of the assignments for this class entailed writing something to submit to another group's publishing site. In my case, I had to submit a text to the sci-fi publishing group, and this was the result. Something probably closer to a historical period piece of the early pre-war 1900s, but with some sci-fi elements thrown in to make it interesting. I like history, so this was really fun to write, and while more clinical in tone than most of the other pieces on this portfolio, even some of the research papers in my opinion, this is a creative work. It's always fun to work on a creative piece in a more scientific or serious lens.
Also, there's probably a small amount of historical/geographical knowledge that could be useful for this piece, so I'll say a bit on that. Strasbourg, as its known today, is a city on the French-German border in Europe. It's swapped hands a good number of times throughout history, as France and many German nations have fought over the region for centuries. In 1913, the city would be under German control. Picture of Strasbourg's location included below.
